Heist alert: watch store robbed, loses 120 million yen

We've all seen those surveillance tapes of some lunatic trying to steal some jewelry from behind the counter, but here's something on a higher magnitude. Nearly 120 million yen worth of merchandise was stolen from a high-end Tokyo, Japan watch store.Of course, that's only about 5 cents in American currency (actually, it's a little over $1,000,000). Police say the suspects are part of a gang that specialize in this sort of crime.

Watch prototype wants you to be on time

We've seen GPS watches, watches with calendars, and WiFi watches, but this is the first time I've seen all three of these used for a killer watch application. This timepiece, still in prototype status, uses these technologies to let you know when you should leave for events programmed in your calendar. It takes into account things like traffic conditions, estimated drive time, and any other en route points you may have scheduled. In addition to all this, it can connect wirelessly with a cell phone via Bluetooth.
